A Simple Solution That Changed Everything
I grew up camping with my folks, and I know how seriously my family takes RV maintenance and safety year round. The story of wheeliefresh.ca all began when my dad asked me to create for him something like a U.S.-based product that RV owners sometimes use for freshness and protection from critters —but wasn’t readily available in Canada. Knowing my love and knowledge of essential oils and natural DIY products, he figured I could come up with something better - not as a product to bring to market, but for the basement in his own beautiful big moho (I call it the rockstar bus). I started researching, and in my forays, I discovered many forums where RVers share their struggles with pests in storage compartments and RV basements. Some swore by certain solutions, others said they didn’t last. That’s when I discovered scent fatigue—a key reason why some products stop working over time, why you could end up with mice chewing through soap bars.
I knew I could do better.
I began experimenting with seasonal rotations of essential oils to keep the scent profile fresh and effective. I sourced premium oils from Canadian vendors and handcrafted each batch with care. I decided upon the foundational oils that are broad spectrum - naturally disgusting to a wide range of critters and bugs. Next, I designed the packaging to ship easily and the shipping solutions to send my product reliably to anyone in Canada - even rural PO Boxes - so customers could receive their sachets fresh and ready to use—no preservatives needed.
What started as a personal project with lots of family huddles and back to the drawing board moments, over time turned into something more. I’m proud to offer a product that’s simple, honest, and made with purpose. And I made sure to cut out those pesky middlemen, wherever I could, to keep the costs down.
