Placement Strategy FAQ - All Products
How should I place the sachets?
(SCROLL DOWN FOR EACH TYPE OF WHEELIEFRESH.CA PRODUCTS)
Always hang freely by the string, or place in a safe, non-reactive container such as:
-
Glass or ceramic bowls
-
Stainless steel trays
-
Empty tin cans
-
Food grade Plastic with ventilation holes
A container may be preferable in RV basements, if the RV is not parked long term or if there is any risk of the sachet falling on surfaces that may be damaged by the essential oils found in this product.
Do not allow sachets to touch surfaces directly!!!!!!!
HANG CAREFULLY over all surfaces or near other items - Reinforce with a cable tie if necessary.
NEVER place sachets directly on:
❌Insulation (fiberglass, foam, cellulose)
❌Electrical wiring or cables
❌Painted or varnished wood
❌Carpet, Lino and other flooring
❌Plastic surfaces
❌Rubber seals or gaskets
❌Upholstery or stored fabrics
❌Paper or cardboard
❌Flooring (vinyl, laminate, hardwood)
❌ Personal items - clothes, shoes, toys, etc
❌Electronics or appliances
Target Sachet (45g) – Placement Strategy – Flushing Without Blocking
✅ Where to Place
-
Near suspected nesting or hiding spots in RV basements and other small enclosed spaces, such as:
-
Corners of RV basements
-
Behind stored items
-
Along interior walls or under built-in storage
-
-
Avoid placing directly near common entry/exit points, such as:
-
Basement doors
-
Vents
-
Access hatches
-
🚪 Why This Matters
-
Rodents and insects tend to follow scent trails and habitual paths.
-
Placing strong scent deterrents near exits may confuse or trap them inside.
-
Instead, drive them away from nesting zones and toward natural escape routes.
🔄 Suggested Flow
-
Identify signs of activity (droppings, shredded material, gnaw marks).
-
Place Target Sachets near those zones, but not at exits.
-
Leave for 7–10 days, checking for reduced activity.
-
Once clear, replace with Regular or Mini Sachets for maintenance.
How do I seal up after using Target Sachets?
Once rodents have vacated:
-
Inspect thoroughly for entry points.
-
Seal using:
-
Steel wool + caulk
-
Expanding foam
-
Metal mesh or flashing
-
Weather stripping
-
-
Follow up with Mini, Regular or Pillow Sachets for long-term protection.
